Choose to Live a Life That Matters

Trailers Are Meant for Traveling

“If we wait for the moment when everything, absolutely everything is ready, we shall never begin.”

 Ivan Turgenev

Bought but Seldom Used

Ever bought something for what you could do with it but then never or seldom did? Ever dreamt about something you could do in life? Dreamt about it many times but then never did anything to make the dreams come true? Thought and dreamed and perhaps even planned of places to see and travel to but then never went there?

Why would one buy a trailer? What’s the purpose? To travel, of course. To go places and see things. To spend time in God’s amazing creation. But how many purchase a trailer and then after the first year or two it just sits in the driveway or by the side of the house unused? I’ve seen and heard about many.

Fixing Thing Up

We bought a trailer a little over a year ago. It was 10 years old but in very good condition. It was a unique trailer, a Trailmanor, an amazing piece of engineering. I fixed and upgraded a few things on it and had lots of fun doing it. I like fixing things up. I get a lot of satisfaction from it. I could always be doing a little more to the trailer and waiting for the perfect moment when every thing, absolutely everything is ready.

Fixing is Meant for Using

But what good would the satisfaction be if I just fixed it up but never used the trailer, never went any place with it, never experienced new places and and people? What if I never hitched it up and pulled it out of the driveway and into the mountains nearby or to the coast a few hours away?

We would have missed many things, including seeing 10 waterfalls a few weeks ago at Silver Falls State Park in Oregon, and getting to know a famous gospel quartet who were in a motorhome just a few sites away.

Yes, trailers are meant for traveling, helping us to see and experience new and different things, to take us to places for times of refreshment and insight.

Dreams are Meant for Following

Dreams are much the same. They aren’t meant just to tinker with. They are meant to be lived. They are meant to take us out of our comfort zone and help us to grow and be a blessing to others.

Yes, trailers are meant for traveling and so are dreams. Let’s get on the road. When you read this, we will be in the mountains with our trailer or perhaps on our way home. Let’s pursue our dreams!
